Get the image one of a task's screen captures returned
Reads the image a screenshot or screen read in a task’s transcript returned, as the URL to draw it from.
Use this tool when you need to:
- Draw a finished surface session’s latest screen without reading its steps
- See what the agent saw when it took a screenshot
Examples:
- GET /tasks//captures/
- GET /tasks/6f1c2a9e-3b7d-4c55-9a2e-0d8b1f4e7c21/captures/toolu_01A2B3C4D5E6F7G8H9J0K1L2
Hints:
- taskID is the task’s uuid; toolCallID is the capture’s tool call id, path-escaped: a surface_session outline entry’s latest_capture_tool_call_id, or the id of a screenshot call in listTaskTurnMessages.
- Answers url: the http(s) URL the workspace uploaded the capture to when its result names one, else the inline image as a data:image/…;base64 URL, with Cache-Control private, no-store. A later settlement of the call can replace its result, so a reader keys what it keeps by the turn’s revision_sequence.
- A screen capture is a screenshot (desktop, browser or device), a device screen read, or an Android batch (android-use), which returns the screen with its report; an iOS batch (ios-use) is not one, since it returns only its report.
- Use listTaskTurns instead to find a finished turn’s surface sessions and their latest captures.
- Owners, admins, members and viewers of the task’s organization may read it; a billing member is refused with 403 org_role_insufficient, a suspended organization with 403 org_suspended, and an agent host’s grant with 403 agent_host_route_not_allowed; 503 when the membership check is unavailable.
- 404 for a task the caller cannot see, a tool call the task does not have, a call that is not a screen capture, and a capture whose result holds no image it can draw.
